Klippers Take Three Straight

With the Christmas break just around the corner the race to establish top three dominance in the conference is really heating up. The Klippers were in action last night in Humboldt where they were able to take a big 2 points on the road increasing their winning streak to 3 games while expanding their lead for 3rd in the Sherwood to 4 points ahead of the Yorkton Terriers, while closing the gap between them and the 2nd place Notre Dame Hounds to only a single point.

Last nights game was the last road game of the year for the Klippers and what away to close up as it was a tremendous goal tending battle between Kirk Crosswell of the Bronco's and your very own Josh Thorimbert. The game would need extra time to solve the one to one deadlock before Jesse Mysiorek would score for the Klippers in the 7th round of the shoot out to take the victory. The next games for the Klippers will now be Friday and Saturday as they host the Flin Flon Bombers at the West Central Events Centre, both games getting underway at 7 o'clock; with Saturdays game having the draw for the Klippers Truck Lotto's grand prize.

Klippers Snap Losing Streak

After being away from the West Central Events Centre for 6 straight games the Klippers were able to end a 4 game losing streak in LaRonge Wednesday night.

With switched up combo's up front the Klippers would hit the ice hungry for a win to take sole position of third place in the Sherwood conference. The line switches would defiantly pay off dividends especially with the line of Jordan Hoffman, Beau Taylor, and Jordan Braid as the three would combine for a total of 10 points on the night leading the team to a 5 to 4 win over The LaRonge IceWolves and former team mate Travis Eggum who would record an assist on the night.

A notable absence from the line up was defenceman Justin Perreaux who has left the team, leaving the Klippers now looking to make a trade.

The Next game for the Klippers will be back at home this Saturday when they host the Weyburn Redwings with the puck dropping at 7.

Trades

The Klippers were back to the trading blocks as a goalie shuffle is in the process.
Goaltender Joshua Baker has been sent to the Dryden Ice Dogs of the SIJHL for future considerations. With reports of the Klippers getting another out of province goalie to join Josh Thorimbert between the pipes.

Back From The Showcase

After some great hockey over the weekend the Klippers returned home with a win and a loss, as we where able to beat Melville for the 5th time this season, then lost to the Northstars in the final game of the show down 7-6 in OT and what a game it was.

Andrew Dommett continued his strong play netting 4 goals in the Klippers loss, moving him into the lead for goals scored in the league with 26, and in 3rd place points wise with 37 points earning him the SJHL's player of the week. With 7-goals and 1-assist in 3-games played last week he certainly earned it!

Also I would like to extend a big welcome to our newest Klippers Tanner Exner, and Lance Tabin; who came over on that Travis Eggum deal.

The Klippers will be back on the road this weekend as we go to Weyburn Friday night to take on the top seated Red Wings, then Estevan Saturday, both of which should be great games as we will look to continue to close the gap between us and the Redwings for that top spot. You can catch both those games on Classic Hits Radio, with pre-game at 7:15 then the puck drops at 7:30.

Klippers Back at Home

The Klippers are back home this Saturday looking to get back into the win column after a couple road losses to start off the week.

First it was a tremendous Goal tending battle Tuesday night in Nipawin where Joshua Baker and Hawks goalie Ryan Kerpan played perfect games taking the match to a shoot out where Nipawin would come away with the W leaving the Klippers with a single point.

Then on Wednesday night the Klippers came up short 3-2 to the Mustangs with King, and Braid scoring for Kindersley. With a goal and an assist in that game Sanfred King now has 4 points in his 3 games with the team.

The good news about this weeks games though, is Yorkton and Melville lost as well so the Klippers did gain another point in the lead for second place in the Sherwood.

Next game for Kindersley will be this Saturday at home versus the Estevan Bruins, who have been looking sharp in November beating both Melville and Yorkton, while taking a couple tight losses to the Red Wings. Saturdays match up will also be a big night for Klippers fans with the early bird draw going for that 09 Harley Davidson V-Rod; so make sure and get your tickets!!!

Klippers Back Home after a Big Win in Melville

The boys were able to wrap up a three game road trip with their 4th win of the season against the Melville Millionaires. And what a game it was, after going down two nothing after one period of play the Klippers would come out firing in the second with Jordan Braid netting the first goal just over 2 minutes into the period. Then came the rough stuff as Bertow would drop the gloves against Rogochewsky, which would even further swing momentum in the Klippers favour. The next goal would come from a tremendous slap shot from the point as Kurt Leedahl would tie it up on the power play, then 3 minutes later it would be Andrew Dommett putting the Klippers up 3 to 2, and once again the gloves would be dropped at centre ice as Riley Down took on Michael Jordan to help close up an exciting period of play. Then mid way through the 3rd Jordon Hoffman would fire one into the back of the net, which would go on to be the game winner as Kindersley would take it 4 to 3.
The win would push the Klippers record to 12 and 9, while moving them into second place in the Sherwood. They will be looking to continue right were they left off when Nipawin comes to town for Friday the 13th in the first match up of the season between these two squads. Although the Hawks are sitting at the bottom in their conference and power rankings they have put an impressive drive together this month winning all three games, one against Melville and the other two coming against the Northstars who delivered Kindersley a loss last week; so we should be in for a great match up. Then Saturday night we will be at home again looking for our first win against the LaRonge Ice Wolves.

First Klippers Blog

Well here it is folks, my first attempt at the whole "blogging" thing; a little late, but better late then never.

We had some great hockey games this week, coming off of two losses at home we went out on to the road sitting at 500 hockey with a record of 7 and 7, but that all changed with 3 big wins. It all started off in Humboldt Tuesday night as we took a 2 to 1 victory, then had another close one in Melville Friday night taking that one 2 to 1. Then last night we were in Yorkton to face the Terriers, who were riding a 3 game winning streak only allowing one goal in those match ups, but they had yet to face our offense. We started off with a quick start as Dommett put us on the board, but Yorkton would come back mid way through the period scoring on the power play, and after one period it was all tied at 1 with Yorkton doubling us in shots 16 to 8. Then came the second and it was all Klippers hockey as we evened up the shots and took a two goal lead with Duzan and Calkins both finding the back of the net. Going into the third the Klippers would continue their dominance as Taylor Duzan and Andrew Dommett would both score their second goals of the night, Yorkton would add one more before, Jordon Hoffman would put the icing on the cake giving the Klippers the 6 to 2 win. With the victory our record now sits at 10 and 7 and we are now tied for second in the Sherwood, with sights set at getting to the number one spot. Next game for the Klippers will be Tuesday night when we host the Broncos, and then the next broadcast will be Friday night from Humboldt. Can't wait to see if we can keep this streak going!!!

Also I would like to add a big thank you to Mavis Hoffman for helping me, with starting up this blog...
