Back With Two Wins

In a playoff round that so far has had home teams lose every game in the SJHL, the Klippers came up big over the weekend taking back to Eston a two to nothing series lead over the NotreDame Hounds.

Friday nights game was an amazing display of goaltenders at their best, as Junior Klippers Josh Thorimbert and Hounds Russell Abbott both had tremendous games, with Thorimbert coming away with a shut out to start his SJHL playoff career. The offence of the 1-0 Klipper win would come from a Braeden Adamyk goal early in the second period.

The amazing hockey continued Saturday night with a game that could not have been scripted to be more exciting. The Klippers continued strong play with special teams contributing two powerplay goals, putting Kindersley up 2 goals going into the 3rd period. The Hounds however would battle to tie the game at 3 a piece with only 21 seconds left in the game, as Blayne Stevenson would score on the powerplay with the extra attacker. Overtime looked like a sure thing until Kevin Clark burst out of his own end taking the puck to NotreDames net with less then ten seconds remaining in the game, Sanfred King hot on his trail would follow up on the rebound and score with only 0.5 seconds left on the clock giving the Klippers not only a 2 game lead going back home but one of the most exciting finishes I have ever witnessed at any venue.

The next game for the Klippers is Tuesday and Wednesday night from Eston, where the Klippers regular season record stands at 8-0 and 1; make sure and come out to support the Klippers on their path to the Credit Union Cup, with game time at 7:30.
